About Hwy 27 Bbq Smokehouse

I want to introduce you to Hwy 27 Bbq Smokehouse, a laid-back barbecue restaurant that feels like a local secret you’re instantly happy to discover. Sitting at 1250 Old Gilliard Rd suite 4 in Ridgeville, this spot captures that comforting, slow-smoke energy the moment you walk up. Hwy 27 Bbq Smokehouse is the kind of place where the smell of barbecue pulls you in before you even check the menu, and once you’re inside, everything feels easy and welcoming rather than rushed or fancy. It works perfectly whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite during a busy day or planning to settle in and actually enjoy your meal. The menu leans into classic comfort food, with barbecue flavors that feel familiar but still memorable, and there are vegetarian options available too, which makes it easier to bring a mixed group without overthinking it. If you like flexibility, this place delivers, literally and figuratively, with options for dine-in, takeaway, delivery, and even no-contact delivery when convenience matters. On warmer days, outdoor seating adds to the relaxed vibe, while the private dining room gives you space for small gatherings without losing that casual feel. Happy-hour food keeps things fun and affordable, and the experience stays focused on good food and good company rather than distractions. What really stands out about Hwy 27 Bbq Smokehouse is how it fits naturally into everyday life, whether you’re grabbing food on the go, meeting friends, or just craving something hearty and satisfying that doesn’t feel overcomplicated. It’s also a solid choice when you want dependable on-site services, friendly pacing, and food that shows up hot and ready without a long wait, which matters when hunger hits fast. As someone introducing this place, I appreciate how the atmosphere stays casual yet organized, making it easy to relax, chat, and enjoy barbecue that feels made for real people, not just special occasions.

We love exploring food in Charleston, and I feel sad that it took so long to find them. I wish they were in a better location. I could easily say it was one of the best BBQ we had in CHS. I hope to go back there soon. They are local and they are good!

Amazing Brisket! This fabulous find offers an amazing brisket among so many other options. The staff was super friendly and efficient with our lunch. We had the brisket sandwich and brisket platter, so goooooood!

We stopped for a quick lunch during our road trip. The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. The food was good overall; however, the rib lunch plate was a bit pricey considering the portion size. I felt it could have included another rib. The rice bowl was excellent, although it was spicier than anticipated, but it was very flavorful.

My husband and I were craving some Southern comfort food and decided to try somewhere new—Hwy 27 Smoked House BBQ came up in our search, and we’re so glad it did! Conveniently located right off the highway with free parking in the adjacent lot, this small, cozy spot is perfect for an intimate meal or even a small gathering. The décor is fun, the space is clean and well-lit, and the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted kindly and given time to browse the menu. We seated ourselves and were served within about 20 minutes. We walked in without reservations, on a Saturday aft/evening. My husband ordered the Double Fist Burger, which he absolutely loved—juicy, fresh, delicious, and truly a two-handed burger! He enjoyed the Sazon rice as a milder alternative to red beans and rice, though he mentioned he would’ve ordered the burger a bit more well-done if asked (he’s a well-done guy; I’m a medium girl!). I had the Pringletown Memphis Spaghetti, and it was fantastic. It brought back childhood memories of pasta goulash but with an elevated smoky twist, thanks to the flavorful pulled pork. Every bite was packed with fresh ingredients, and the portion was generous enough that I happily brought leftovers home. They also have a cooler stocked with fun beverages—I enjoyed a Guaraná Brazilian soda, and my husband loved his sweet tea. We loved that the two lovely ladies working there, took the time to come out and share some friendly banter. Things like that make you feel welcomed and valued as a customer. Human connection goes a long way! Thank you, ladies. :) Overall, Hwy 27 Smoked House BBQ offers great food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. They also provide catering and small-party reservations. We’ll definitely be back!

After exploring the boardwalk at Francis Beidler Forest, we were looking for a quick bite, and this little restaurant was the perfect stop! The menu offered a fantastic variety of flavors for our family. The pulled pork was tender and smoky, the ribs were fall-off-the-bone goodness, even the classic cheeseburger hit the spot and the shrimp tacos were very flavorful.

We were looking for a place for dinner tonight and thankfully found this wonderful establishment. Very conveniently located not far from our new home in Cross! The owner greeted us and gave us his back story and culinary history, which was impressive to say the least. The food was fresh and delicious. Pretty sure we found our new dining spot! Thanks again, Hwy 27!!

We ordered 50 wings half plain and half garlic parm - these wings are HUGE take a wing from any restaurant around and multiple the size by 4! They have and incredible flavor, juicy and cooked to perfection. We also got ribs, smoked Mac and Cheese and Potato Salad. The ribs are also HUGE, we got Carolina Gold sauce but these ribs need no sauce. Literally, everything is finger licking good. Everyone loved the Mac and Cheese and Potato Salad. Me personally, I’m very picky on my blue cheese and theirs is top notch h. You are doing yourself a disservice if you do not try eating from this restaurant. The pricing is incredible. The amount of food is incredible served hot we ordered through DoorDash came in great packaging just 100 out of 10 for the food the service the whole 9 yards it was absolutely incredible. We will order from here more often! What an excellent local surprise!!

I'm from Texas and this place was 45 minutes out of the way off 95 in an RV. Well worth the detour. I think the salt could have been cut back on the hush puppies and okra. Overall, both were fried fresh and didn't need sauce. Brisket tacos were good even though the only ingredients consisted of flour tortillas sliced brisket and onions. "Simple" The slliced brisket was actually really good even though there was a little smoke ring, but cooked perfectly. The flavors were all there. Sweet potato fries were crunchy and with a sauce. I like that this place actually uses real silverware instead of cheap cafeteria silverware, especially when it comes to barbecue. With that said, I never needed a knife to cut my brisket because it was cooked perfectly. I like that the owner came out and asked how everything was and tasted. I probably would have given this restaurant a 5 out of 5 if the hush puppies and okra were a little less salty. The potato salad was on point and the portions were a great bang for your buck. If you order an appetizer and two meals at any other place, this meal would have cost well over $60 bucks especially for brisket these days. Hats off to the owner and staff. Support Local businesses
